Catholic Charities of Tompkins and Tioga helps IWR refugee partners sign up for public benefits when eligible, connect to immigration law representation, and access their clothing closet.
Open Doors English offers English language classes to newcomers from all over the world. Our Global Roots Play School’s hours are scheduled to coincide with ODE class times.
Tompkins Learning Partners provides English language tutoring and helps students work towards self-identified goals such as crafting a resume, applying for jobs, preparing for the GED, and studying for the citizenship test.
Ithaca Children’s Garden offers scholarships for children from families served by IWR to attend the ICG summer camp.
GO Ithaca is a free membership-based program that provides sustainable and affordable transportation solutions to the community. The program helps IWR refugee partners access heavily discounted passes for local buses.
Friendship Donation Network enables IWR refugee partners to access fresh, nutritious food through its redistribution program that redirects surplus from local stores and farms.
Tompkins County Public Library Youth Services brings story time to Global Roots Play School each week.
Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Family and Community Development Program helps improve family well-being through evidence-based education and shaping policy. The program supports the annual IWR community picnic, including providing space and activities for families.
Wide Awake Bakery is a community-focused bakery that raises funds and awareness in support of IWR programs.
Mama Goose & Jillian’s Drawers sells gently-used children’s clothes and baby items and natural parenting products. The store supports gifts to IWR of store credit received for donated items, which we distribute to refugee and immigrant families.
